XAnt plugin ?

Postby bobmagnuson on Wed Dec 29, 2004 5:06 pm

I am using the XAnt plugin to populate the movies database directly from my Ant Catalog. It works great at startup. But I will be adding movies quite frequently to the Ant Catalog and was wondering if there is a way to trigger the plugin to execute and repopulate the movies database without having to restart XLobby?

Thanks, Bob

How did you guess the new feature

You can test the beta here :

http://users.skynet.be/badubo/test/Xant.dll

you have a method called "Rebuild" you must pass as argument the name of the section (as in the ini, without the [ ]) of the database you want to rebuild

Don't forget to refresh your category after that

Badubo - curious ---- could u take a look at my post in this thread at the bottom:

http://www.xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2599

And tell me if u think perhaps your plugin has some hope of supporting something like this?

Just curious.....

nope,

the only purpose of this plugin is to convert an AMC database to xlobby, for retrieving data, you must use AMC scripting

I downloaded new AMC a couple of weeks ago (v 35 if i remember correctly) nut the file format seems to have changed a bit. it read sold ant catalogues no problem bt old versions of AMC can't open files created by 3.5. Also XAnt plugin. Is there a newer (updated) verison of XAnt plugin for AMC 3.5 ?

Cheers,

D.

dalanik, I did testes and I can open my database AMC (built with ANT 3.4..) with AMC v 3.5.0
and also, I saved my database with AMC 3.5 and I tested it with Xant plugin,... and it works......

maybe is not working if I build a database with AMC 3.5...
But make sure to delete movies.xml from "databases" repertory and also delete movies.xml from the "templates" repertory..

What is the latest version of the XAnt plugin and where is it available from? It might be because I'm using an old version that doesn't have all the audio CD stuff (which I dont need) :-)'

Thanx,

Dalibor

I believe, but the whole point of HTPC for me at least, is not to have to insert audio CDs into drive :-) My whole collection is in MP3 format on hard drive....

I'll try the later versions and see how it goes. Thanx!

Has the mame script been updated so that it creates a database of the same format as XAnt? I was going to get back into this tonight and build a games screen for my skin but want to make sure I'm covering the bases.

Naylia,

Since a long time we work on an application to build automatically databases for xlobby with all your roms that you have. We will use XAnt plugin to build the database.
The application is already working for mame roms, we built also a database for SNES, NES, N64, SMS, SegaGenesis and zinc emulator,a database for GB, GB color, GBA is near to be finished, but for those bases, we need to finish an external application to identify which roms you have…badubo will help us but he is very busy ( he works on many plugins at the same time.

So if you want an example of a mame’s database, I can send it to you ;)
