Girder and Xlobby. Is there an Xlobby plugin for girder

Postby showmethehtpc on Thu Jan 18, 2007 7:29 am

Girder seems to be another way to get Xlobby to work with USB-UIRT.

If anyone here uses Girder with Xobby, can you please let me know if there is a .GML plugin needed so Girder can control the Xlobby application.

Please see this picture to see what I'm talking about:

It seems that for every program that Girder is able to control there is a .GML file in this directory for that program. Such as VLC, PowerDVD, Meedio basic, Media player, Theatretek, etc.....

Please let me know how to get the .GML file or how Girder is able to control Xlobby.

Thanks for your help!

Use the Xremote plugin from the French team...

http://www.xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3244

There isn't really a generic .gml file as most of the users on this forum customise their skins (I think) so everyone's setup is a bit different.

Girder basically uses 'sendmessage' to send commands to xlobby and you can setup exactly which xlobby events you want each of these commands mapped to (and it can be different depending on which screen you are currently using, i.e. music, movies, pictures).
You can get basic functionality just by using the arrow keys and <enter> but you probably want more configured on the remote than that I expect. Try the plugin anyway - it should do what you want.

And if anybody has any ideas on how to fix it, I'm still open for them...

Is the Xremote a window based program?

I downloaded an Xremote program. Is this program design for windows or Linux. I did not see a setup file as I do with most programs.

I'm using just the

Xlobby2 Simplicity
http://www.xlobby.com/xlobby2install.exe

I just want UP,Down, left,Right and Enter.

Is anyone willing to send me a .GML file for Girder with a basic setup or give me a link for a windows based Xremote?

I feel like I have been cursed with this setup because nothing seems to work.

Thanks.
