InTheaters plugin via XScript - Discontinued

Xlobby plugin development

Postby cmhardwick on Sat Feb 17, 2007 5:53 am

Ok, my intheaters script finds everything EXCEPT the Hi-Res coverart. I can see in the log where it goes to get it, etc, but it always assigns the lo-res coverart from movietickets.com. I can manually go into the database and run the IMPA spider to get the correct coverart and update runs of the intheaters script don't overwrite the images. Any clues? I'm running 2.5 of the script. Below is a section from the log where it's looking for the coverart of "because I said so"
Code: Select all

NEW VERSION!! - 02/18/2007

Postby tswhite70 on Sun Feb 18, 2007 6:17 pm

cmhardwick - Yeah, Google made a change. I can't take supporting two versions anymore so I'm releasing the new one. I've been working on this for months and it's not quite complete, but it will have to be good enough. Hopefully having it released will help with debugging and keeping me motivated on it. There are lots of changes - so read below, check out the updated screenshots, new fields, new options, etc in the first post. The skin files have been updated for the new functionality.

v5.1 02/18/2007 - Major Update!
- XScriptNG now required!!!!!

- Parameter variable now contains link to MovieTickets.com url for the movie (internal use)
- Now Searchable by Theater and Showtime (showtimes still need some work, gotta come up with a way to consolidate showtimes)
- Trailers now pulled from Itunes
- Fuzzy matching of trailer names using Levenshtein Distance
- TrailerSize can be set to the max size trailer link desired. Valid values are "IPod", "Small", "Medium", "Large", "HD 480", "HD 720", "HD 1080". If the specified size is not available the script will link to the next largest available link unless only a single link is available.
- New "TrailerURL" variable: for link to Itunes trailer url; replaces previous "trl_small", "trl_medium", "trl_large" variables
- New "TrailerAvail" variable: TrailerIsAvail_str and TrailerNotAvail_str script options can be set by the user to determine what is displayed in the %traileravail% variable. This can be simple text or an image (ie "skin://buttons/TrailerIsAvail.png")
- Database is now multi-level with subitems for each theater and showtime per movie (see the screenshot of the "Theaters" view).
- New "PurchaseLink" variable: Movietickets.com online purchase url for individual showtime if available
- New "PurchaseAvail" variable: PurchaseIsAvail_str and PurchaseNotAvail_str can be set by the user to determine what is displayed in the %purchaseavail% variable for individual showtime subitems. This can be simple text or an image (ie "skin://buttons/TrailerIsAvail.png")
- New MaxStills option can be used to limit the number of stills downloaded per movie (default = 99).
- Extended searching option is now available. If Extended is set to 1 the script will try searching other sites for movie info & stills that are not available from the default movietickets.com and movies.com. Default is 0, or disabled. Individual sites for extended searching can be enabled (1) or disabled (0) for IMDB, IndiaFM, and BigMovieZone (IMAX). NOTE: This feature has not been completely debugged.
- New "filterrating" variable: short rating for searches
- New "theaternames" variable: for filtering on theaters
- New "showtimeslist" variable: for filtering on showtimes

good luck and let me know how it goes...

Thanks TSWhite! I can't imagine how hard it is to keep things like this working when the websites you reference keep changing the layout, etc.

The current one still works great with the exception of the hi-res photos. I'll install and configure the new one this weekend and let you know.

Thanks again! If you take paypal donations, i'd be happy to donate. I know you've spent tons of time on this and other scripts/plugins.

I'm getting an error on the "imports System.Xml" line it can't find it. This is part of .net 2.0 I assume, which is running on my system.

whoops - yeah I forgot XscriptNG needs to be configured to use the assembly. Go to F2\Plugins\XScriptNG\Configure\Referenced Assemblies\Add New - type in "System.Xml.dll" without the quotes.

good luck,

That got it. Still no hires via the script, but otherwise it works great.
I'm not going to worry, movies don't change that often here that I can't just go and get the hires manually once a week :)

Thanks again!!

Double check the script and make sure you have "Dim HQ As Integer = 1". Delete your images/coverart directory, remember it won't overwrite if the file already exists. I just did a full download after deleting mine and got covers for approx. 70% of the movies from Impawards.com.

good luck,

Thanks, that got it. I had been deleting the directory, but NOT the correct database (the one in the database directory). Sheesh. Ok, it's working now. I just need to restructure my screens to handle the new levels in the database.

Thanks again for a GREAT and USEFUL plugin!! :D

attempting to refresh today and, at random points, i'll get an error. The progress screen says "formatting output" and I get "error running script. parameter length must be greater than 0"

Deleted all intheater databases and the intheater directory, even re-downloaded and installed the script. It's not always on the same movie. sometimes on the 1st movie, sometimes the 5 or 6.

Anyone else getting this error?

I see what you mean, but I had the error occur on Flushed Away....Flushed Away??? That's been out of the theaters and on DVD for how long???

Well I just did a check on movietickets.com and Flushed Away is still playing in a small local theater in my area...so I guess that's not a problem.

I ran it Wednesday night without issue, but I'll check it tonight. The only way in the "formatting" section of the script I can see an error like that happening is if the Theaternames is blank or if there aren't any showtimes for the movie. I may need to add some extra error handling.

Just to make sure it's not a timeout issue, search your debug log for "The request has timed out!".

must have been a site glitch yesterday. it worked fine today. Last entry in the log had one line from Movietickets.com headed "technical difficulties"

Thanks as always TSWHITE!

LOVE the script!! This is just what I've been looking for!! everything works great!! I have the trailers bit on, so I'm getting the trailer url. But when I use your screen, and click on the Qicktime icon, nothing happens. Am I missing something? Do I need to set file types for quicktime or something like that?

Thanks
Ray
