Xlobby plugin development

Working now - thought i had the windows version, but must not have copied it over... oops!

It doesnt seem that uCon64 supports 7zip, as i'm getting a list of things, but it comes out like:

Code: Select all
573440 Bytes (4.3750 Mb)

Padded: Maybe, 2 Bytes (0.0000 Mb)
Intro/Trainer: Maybe, 49152 Bytes
Interleaved/Swapped: No
Backup unit/emulator header: Yes, 3703 Bytes
Checksum (CRC32): 0x02c0c932

D:\Emulation\Nintendo\SNES\3 Ninjas Kick Back.7z

Magic Super Griffin/MSG

PC-Engine (CD Unit/Core Grafx(II)/Shuttle/GT/LT/Super CDROM/DUO(-R(X)))
Super Grafx/Turbo (Grafx(16)/CD/DUO/Express)

Which looks like it doesnt recognise them as SNES roms?

While we're on this tho - i did a little experiment with my Nes roms - in 7zip format they are 230MB, and in Zip format they are 1.35Gb :o
Slight Difference.

yep, ucon64 seem to not reconise 7z ... it calcul the 7z but not the file in it....
so sorry I can't help you for that....

and yes, slight difference between zip and 7z ... but for the momment there isn't solution to get 7z working with rom2xlobby...

maybe you can more compress those zip, instead of using the default compression of your zip program....

Ok, quick question...

If i was to convert all my 7z's to zip, run Rom2XLobby to create the database, convert all my zips's back to 7z and then find and replace within the database for all the .zip extensions to be replaced with .7z, would that work!?!

yep, that should work ;)

I'm using Remplacevite to search and replace on multiple xml files
here is the link : http://www.codeodis.com/telecharger/Rem ... cevite.zip
to get it in english; click on the little flag on the right corner of the window (close to "?")

Is there any way to download the game screenshots before running rom2xlobby, as its taken over 24 hours to get up to S, and is using nearly all my CPU! It doesnt seem to be moving any more either...

not really... you seem to have a lot of roms  or a very small bandwich ( or maybe you tried it yesterday, when the server was down....?
anyway, why don't you try to build your databases one by one.... (platform by platform)

try again, as I told you, the serveur was down, so maybe that was the problem...

all coverarts are hosted on a same place, but I can't tell you where... ( you should know why...) but it's not hard to find it.....
but anyway, coverarts are nammed with a number (not the name of the game) so it will be very difficult to find the coverart that you need ( for a specific game).

there is also an other way to get coverart for your games, I built some spiders for mobygame.com, look at there : http://www.xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3640

xml output are databases for xlobby, and it's going directly to the databases directory of xlobby ( the first utilisation of rom2xlobby, it ask you where is your xlobby directory....)

Ok, i'm having real issues with the program.
I must be on my 10th attempt of trying to get the xml file of my NES roms - it seems to have downloaded all the screenshots now, but still takes about 10hours to get to the last two blocks in the progress meter. Then it just stops. Uses no cpu, a good chunk of RAM, but nothing happens. 2 blocks to go and nothing.
Any ideas?

just to see if the problem come from ucon64 or rom2xlobby, can you try
the bath :
Code: Select all
ucon64 "D:\Emulateurs\romsnes" >SNESresult.txt

and tell how many time it's taking.

another thing, How is your bandwidth ?

Bandwidth is 2mb, ucon64 takes about 20 minutes until it starts throwing up errors due to trying to read the jpeg files (although still seems to continue) so too about that long to get to N.
I dont think its a bandwidth issue, as its already downloaded all the images now (after a few attempts).
