Is Xlobby something to begin with ?

Postby fsamuelsson on Mon Sep 24, 2007 6:22 am

Hello !

iam now building a HTPC and is looking for a frontend software, found xlobby and loved it, but it seems that i can´t find any practical information about how this software is going to be released in the future, as i understand it (Please correct me if iam wrong) a new release is posted under new releases that will allow you to use the software for another 30 days or so, and after that, yet another release is posted that allows you to continue for another period and so on. All this because of the recent merger with Calrad ? So my question is , how long will you continue to release new software ? i don´t want to build a solution just to have it not functioning in a couple of weeks, and when can you buy the software, as i understand it the software is free for the moment but will cost in the future. Any help would be appriciated.

We all feel your pain. No one seems to know anything as to what is going on...including the developers. No one seems to be able to give us a price range...or what, truely, the different versions will do. Funny how it appears this project is so miss guided.

Frustrated...yeah...it starts when individuals go against their word.

It´s funny if i look on the dates on some of the posts about the merger and pricing, it seem that this has been ongoing for som while. i mean it´s a great product and if i had to pay 100-200 $ to get an full version i would do i right away. So it seem that a good product goes to "waste" because somebody can´t set a price :(

Its bad times we r living here right now... To use freelobby, u need both old installer and old exe update. Du bara måste skaffa dem någonstans! check if this thread can be of any help http://xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5748&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Updating new preview distributions with the old dll IMHO does nothing.

EDIT: when u have both right files u proceed by installing installer and copying contest of exe update into xlobby directory, that is xlobby.exe and other included files.
