HTPC Boot & XLobby Startup Screen; Change to New Image ?

Postby thekochs on Wed Aug 02, 2006 10:13 pm

My HTPC uses Logon loader to show a customized HTPC background which I also have my desktop background set to. I like xLobby but would ideally like to change the xLobby startup screen to this same backup image. Thus, when my HTPC boots the user just sees this single image during autologon, Windows Desktop, XLobby startup.....basically just seeing the Skin come up would be the change.

Is there a way to change the XLobby startup screen to another image ?

You can modify the startup screen using the skin editor. The screen in question should called splash.

Copy your image into the backgrounds folder of the selected skin. In xLobby press F1 and select the skin editor, Use the "Goto" tab to goto the splash screen and then select the screen and edit tabs. Choose you background.

If you'd like you can change the entire appearance of xLobby to follow your custom images. Check out Colby's skinning document and give it a shot. But make a copy of the skin folder, if you do so you can go back when you mess it up. If you're anything like me. :)
