Ya'know after all this talk of vintage radios and mods, Its got me excited. I am gonna build one myself. I just talked to my father and he has an old stereo he is giving me. So I will be vintage skinning myself. I googled the radio after he told me what year and model it was here is some screenshots from online. This will be what I will be working with.

It looks as if you even have room inside the case to put subwoofer in! :-)

If you do that - you may want to double glue all the joints of the case to prevent it from falling apart. After all it is old, old, old. Usually you must treat old furniture with care and not torture it.

This case actually has a 12" speaker in it. And as far as shock asorbers, I think thats overkill. Now airbags maybe, or hydraulics. The thing about old furniture is its real wood, and very stable, (and heavy). I have so many ideas this may be a Long project.

Big magnets and hard drives don't mix well.

Busted...
I have been really lazy lately but here people been busy, new cases and all 8)
I’m back on skining (really slowly though).
It’s only the TV-screens left but the problem is that I have my TV card on another computer and I have been to lazy to get it over and finish it.
Maybe I should just release it. Every body uses there own fix and tricks for TV cards anyhow.

Rika,

Releasing it as a nearly finished skin is a great idea. Some of us don't even use tv features at all. If you wait to release it untill you are done, then maybe you wont be as motivated to deal with the questions and comments that you will obviously get after releasing it. And the sooner you release this one, the sooner you can start on the other one that you said you wanted to start. I think now would be a lovely time to let us have it.
:D :D :D :D
OOPS, did that sound desperate?
I am looking forward to the download whenever you decide to let us have it.

Later,
Brian.

PS, I hope you had a good vacation, we can all use one every now and again.

It's easy to get bogged down in the TV section and I'm sure there are many like myself who just launch to their favourite TV software with girder/sendmessage controls. I personally would only need what has already been done so I vote too to have a non-TV release sooner rather than later. :D
