Setting Xlobby variables externally?

I have searched the forums and not really seen a definative answer on this.

I would like to have Girder send a text string variable to Xlobby. Xlobby can then display this string. I have a Denon receiver that shows (among other things) the volume and speaker modes in Girder. I would like to be able to display this information directly in Xlobby.

Is there any way to set a variable from Girder or some other event?

Perhaps you can use the plugin XReceive.

Which version of girder do you use ? How your variables are managed in girder ?
