You can start by installing the card, using the KX drivers only. You mentioned the faceplate with knobs and connections and the sort. I didn't think these got bundled with the Audigy Value cards...been a while since I looked at the actual Audigy Value board so I don't recall if there is an actual spot to plug that external device into. Would be nice to use though as it could give you an additional Line-in, which could be used later down the road. But if it doesn't work, you can always sell it and make back some money (CHA-CHING).
Follow my mini tutorial on the ZoneSkin4 post. This tutorial is expanded in the documentation I include bundled in the ZoneSkin4.exe. Download location is in the midst of moving, so the link on the post is no longer valid (if you haven't already downloaded yet).
Anyways, follow that tutorial to get you started. Get familiar with the KX DSP...most important thing, then try and understand the P3rvTalk default.ini files. Since you got the same card as I have, I'll forward you via email the Klt2 output configuration that I use, so you can have upto 4 analog stereo outputs (4 zones). To start, use ZoneSkin4...get familiar with how things are done, then change to your hearts content.
Setup 4 winamp instances...with the line-in input, you can have upto 5 sources for the four zones (4x mp3/shoutcast sources and the line-in...which could be an external tuner, CD player, DVD player, TV audio...etc.).
I'll try and get on IRC tonight, though it will be a little later (hope your up to late nights, if you want to work around my schedule right now...sorry), and over the weekend. If you don't catch me there, then fire off a post here and I will try and answer as quick as possible.
