iPAQ locking up -- newbie question

Postby alexg on Sun Jul 02, 2006 11:38 pm

I installed xlobby on my PC (running as server) and installed xlobby2sd.exe on my iPAQ.

It works fine, the iPAQ can access the server, I can play music and DVD's using the iPAQ to control the server.

When the iPAQ's screen saver kicks-in, then xlobby2sd locks up. I have to soft reset the iPAQ so I can use it. What I am doing now is quitting xlobby2sd before the screen saver activates.

Is there a work around this problem or did I do something wrong?

Thanks.

Thanks! Better yet, I will turn off the iPAQ, for a full DVD play I think the batteries will go quickly.

Thanks.

? Is that supposed to be some sort of smart alec response? I was being serious. I have 3 different Ipaqs that I use as Xlobby remotes without your "screensaver" problem. With only 2 posts, you're off to a poor start on this forum.

Sorry that my post was misinterpreted, I am serious when I said thanks.

After I read what you posted, I realize that is it not really a problem for me since watching DVD movies, I really do not need to interact with xlobby.

Again, my apology for my post it was not intended to be a smart alec comment.

Sorry, no need to apologize then, but I apologize for misinterpreting your post! Did you actually mean a screensaver picture or the screen shutting off? Some Ipaqs turn off their wifi conection when the screen turns off, others don't.

I mean the screen shutting off, if the iPAQ is turning off the wireless, then that is what my iPAQ was doing. Anyway, I tried the web server instead of the thin client and I believe that running the web server and using internet explorer on the iPAQ would work better.

Thanks.
