EPG integration & sending IR using USB-UIRT?

I'm hoping someone else has this working or that there are others that would like to see it in XL.

I'd like to be able to use XL as my "Home Remote"; so basically, I'd like it to have all the features it does now plus control all my X10 devices plus...

have a built in (or seamless integration with) EPG that can be used as a remote to change channel.

So in other words, I'd like an EPG in XL that when I choose a 'show' it sends the appropriate IR code (via USB-UIRT) for the channel, thus changing the channel on the TV (satelite in my case). Ideally, if I chose a show in the future (say something that starts in 30 minutes) it would change the channel at that time, not immediately.

I use Xlobby with XLTV TV plugin with K!TV. It allows to watch and record tv, schedule programs and access them via epg. There is also a favorite organisation system.
I have Tv from Adsl with A box. I use Xltv+Usbuirt to control and watch tv via usbuirt and the epg. It works well.
For the video, I use The Svideo IN of the TV card.

Are you sending IR signals? I simply want to send IR signals to change channels on my sat set-top box.

I never intended its use in this way...but there was a command I added a little while back called "send number" for the usbuirt ...its under IR->send number.

Basicly you could probably use that and input the epg channel variable and make a button to trigger it. I can't think of the epg channel variable name off the top of my head...but you can use the skin editor to get it. You also have to make sure in your usbuirt profile you have setup all the number 0 thru 9....so xlobby knows how to send the numbers....it will then break that number up and send it one at a time with the "send number" command....hopefully you follow.

This is what I do Too but with the great features of xltv. So I can change the channel with simple buttons, but I can change them with epg too and have schedule tv too.

@Steven: what is the difference between learning a ir code of a number and using the IR event, and using the ir number event?

It would be great to use XLobby and have the EPG to browse on a touchscreen while still watching another show. Then choose the show I want to watch next and have XLobby change the channel at that time.

My config is for a adsl tvbox, so it will not work for you, but I've maid a help (sorry, it's in french) you will be able to understand how to do so!

for using that, you need:
1) usbuirt
2)Xlobby with xltv skin: there is frech skins that work with it: xstream, xmedia2 and heavymetalX, go to the frech forum
3) xltv
4) Tv card connected to the source via video in
5)source: sat/cable/adsltv/...
6) K!tv tv software v2.3.0.1
