Anzxio & Berra,
Just briefly read your chat posts. Anzxio, can you try the following tests below?
1)In the command prompt, type "nslookup w3.weather.com" without the quotes and hit enter.
Also do one for weather1.vip.scd.yahoo.com. This is to test if your dns is resolving the correct ip addresses. See sample below.
2) Try to ping 66.218.71.226 (yahoo weather) and 63.111.24.29 (weather.com). If you time out on the first one, try to do this in the command prompt: "tracert 66.218.71.226" and also for 63.111.24.29 and see how far you go. See sample below:
Note: You might timeout on the 63.111.24.29 (weather.com) since I think they set their routers to be unpingable. (hmmm, is there such a word)
The 66.218.71.226 ip address is from Yahoo's weather page. Not sure if this is still being used by Steven to get weather data but my firewall detected it trying to connect when I open xlobby after a fresh install. It could also be that your ISP blocks this ip addresses for some reason.
Berra, since you can eject your drive from "My Computer" and cannot using Xlobby and have also tried different drives/switches in the Event Manager, chances are is that another resident program is taking control of your drive. Burning programs & Multimedia programs (ie, creative) might be set to take control of the drive in your Registry settings. You might want to check any services, processes & your registry.
