Hy dalanik,

Actually, I’m a member of Xlobby FR team, at the beginning, it was the personal website of C-moi (the king of tutorials ) and now is kindly hosting by Steven (Thank you Steven!). The team uploads the documentation there but C-moi still organizes the website.
If you want more about our team you can see those topics:

using your skin

Postby firmware on Mon Jun 14, 2004 7:46 pm

Hi there,

Just to say I am using your skin right now, it looks much better that the myhtpc setup I had before and the girlfriend is happy with it using a remote wonder.

Please keep up the goodwork.

I will attempt to feed something back into this project in any way I can.

Hi All,

Cant work out how to get the news feed working

Created a database entry called "news"

http://p.moreover.com/cgi-local/page?in ... eviews+rss

but had nothing come up on the screen.

Looking at pg-news.xml

I can see this might work for a database called "newssports" but cant see how the other options resolve.

Now I look further maybe two techniques have been used, one that refenreces newssprts uses the database tag, whereas the others use set db

I will play and see if I have any luck, meanwhile would anyone like to enlighten me?

Futher to this I added newssports and one of the others, (cant remember which one right now) anyway, newssports gave me headlines, but I couldn't drill down and the other just did not work.

Anyone got a dummies guide for this rrs stuff, should I be able to jump to the content of the headlines within xlobby?

Sorry for late reply :-) I didn't actually ever see this work. The thing is, at my office, where i have fast, reliable connection, we have most of the stuff blocked out by cisco, so nothing but browsing and limited ftp doesn't work :-(

At home, I have to use dialup, which I rarely use. And I tell myself at least once a week that at least I'll try and see if news and weather work, but I just don;t have the time or patience....

So if anyone is willing to describe how to set it up, and what a skin has to contain in order to get this working, I'm more than anxius to hear :-)

The thing is, I just copied those pages from Jowaldo's skin, without testing them...

OK, quick update. I finnaly started working on the "themes" or "resources" for my skin. It should be ready by beginning next week.

I'll also add some disk info on file-browser pages through xstats plugin.

Cheers,

Dalibor

Played a bit with my "Visual page". Not much of a page, anyway:

http://www.freewebs.com/lanik/download.htm

You can download new versions of the skin, and some extras:

Visual Skin for XLobby

Visual Skin:

(just unzip it and copy the whole folder to the skins folder of XLobby)

Download v040

Download v042

Download v043

Download v044

Extras:

Download Extras

(Girder definition file, Zoom player config files, Font needed for skin)

Extras archive contains program for playing WAVs and 2 VBS scripts to download photos from the camera into XLobby. Needed if you want to use download pictures feature of Visual skin. Visual skin is setup to use this scripts. Just unzip and move the created APP folder to your XLobby folder (setup for c:\Program Files\Xlobby) - otherwise you'd have to edit event in visual skin. Camera is setup as G:\DCIM\100OLYMP\, so if you have any other setup, just oben the 2 VBS scripts and edit the paths with notepad.

Download PowerPro

(PowerPro configuration file and scripts)

PowerPro archive contains PowerPro scripts. With this config, all you need to do is run PowerPro, and it'll lounch girder and XLobby. It will switch resolution to 800x600, hide desktop icons and taskbar. Then, PowerPro will remain in memory and respond when XLobby sends it CD Insert notification. It will then scan for all subtitle files on the CD and offer you to choose 1, that will be copied to a directory specified on hard drive, where ffdshow is setup to display titles from. This is necessary if you have more than 1 subtitle file on your CDs. (Talking about Divx/Avi films here).
