Creating a DB on only videos that can then be used

Postby egandt on Sat Apr 07, 2007 4:15 pm

Ok so I have a number of directories that contain Videos
C:\1
D:\2
E:\3 for instance, now they also have sub-directories, I want a complete list of the contents of all 3 directories in a single list (including what was found in any sub-directories) without having to know where the file was found. I then want to use this new DB as a category to allow me to run each file. Sadly I'm unable to even get close I can sometimes get the DB to import the data, but I can never see it in the category screen as all I get is a number of screens, but no text or icons.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
ERIC

So you added all 3 paths before you imported? After your import, assuming youre using the right template (ie. movies), if you go into the database editor (f2) are your entries there? If they are than its simply a matter of setting your category to display the contents of this category.

Entry = a media file assimulated to form a database.
Database = a collection of media items imported from some path.
Category = graphical layout of database entries in the Xlobby skin.
