Making an overlay automaticly show/hide

Hi all,
I'm working on a skin and I'm stuck on this one section already, I'de really like to have it so that when music is being played an advanced music control panel shows on the main menu and when no music is being played, the control panel goes away. Any ideas on how to make this work as seemless as possible? Thanks a bunch yalls!

Cant you add a show overlay, or show button event to the play event of your music category and a close overlay or hide event to the clear playlist button.
My thinking is whatever triggers your music to initially play should have the show event, and what ever triggers your music to go away (ie. clear playlist) should have the hide event. Just use multi command events.
