try renaming the xlobby.xml to xlobby.xml.old and see if that lets it load

you can delete the xlobby.xml OR you cand edit the xlobby.xml with notepad to say
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<xlobby>
<skin>default</skin>
<popuphelp>True</popuphelp>
<loadhttpimages>False</loadhttpimages>
...

My skin uses new features make sure you have the newest exedownloaded and installed before you use my new skin.

Good luck!

Colby,
I DL'd your skin and the latest XL EXE.

I get a blank/black screen... nothing more.

I can F2 into the setup menu and change skins, so the XL engine is working fine.

Any ideas?

I know the problem I bet;
my skin is nested wrong, you probably extracted it into

Xlobby>Skins>ColbySkin2>ColbySkin2 instead of just Xlobby>Skins>ColbySkin2

make sure you dont have an extra layer of skin folder or XL wont find the skin.

DId that do it?

Pratok,
Download a whole new xlobby (pre14) in its own directory. Then download the newer executable (main.zip)and extract to your new install.
Start XLobby, it should goto the default skin default menu. Next goto download tab of f2 and download the newest exe from the list. The light should turn green when things are up to date. Then click install updates. XL will restart. Now close XL and add my skin to the the skins folder making sure its in nested the right place, skins>colbyskin2. Now restart xl and choose my skin in f2, then restart. If any of this doesnt work let me know.

thanks again, thats got it up again. when i had the colby skin running i fit the resolution to a 46 " 16:9 picture but i lost some of button names. do i need to resize them independently . would i find that in the xlobby.xml also? (the buttons still worked but only two had text on them.)

My skin was designed ideally for 1024x768. your 16:9 confuses the resolution so obvious messing occurs. You can rework the text , in the skin editor, for widescreen resolution, I dont intend to ever make a widescreen of my skin. Sorry.
