Metamasks.....

After seeing the posts in the announcement thread about the new release I just thought i'd ask a few questions about it.

I've downloaded a metamask tool (powergrep) and it only seems to search text files (with any success). Does this mean that the database importer creates a text file from scanning the database which is then converted to xml using metamasks?

Powergrep is probably as the (historically unix utility grep ) name implies - a tool for find context inside of files. Regular expressions are just the means to specify what to look for. They (regexps) can be used on anything. In Xlobby they are most likely to be used on directory listings. The METAMASk characters \\ imply directories anbd what they should mean ( i.e it's an album name, or it'S a DVD film top level directory etc tec ) , at least that how I interpreted them.
