Can this be done?

Postby cameronr on Tue Feb 07, 2006 6:08 am

Hi all,

I have been reading about xLobby but haven't yet installed it. I have a specific task in mind that I would like xLobby to fulfill and would like to know if it is possible.

I use zoomplayer on a projector for playing media. I want xlobby to be displayed on a different monitor (two monitor setup). Before xlobby launches zoomplayer to play a media file I want to change the refresh rate of the projector (it is a CRT projector) to suit the frame rate of the media file.

I guess this would be the sequence of events:
1) Browse to media file in xlobby
2) "Play" media file:
2.1) launch a command-line tool (or would an xlobby plugin be able to do this? I will develop the tool myself) that will retrieve the frame-rate from the specified media file and change the projector refresh rate with powerstrip shortcuts
2.2) Launch zoomplayer once the command-line tool has exited
3) Close zoomplayer automatically once the media file has finished playing

Your thoughts/suggestions would be much appreciated :)

Cheers
Cameron

I don't have 2 monitor setup, but I believe this should not be a problem, since I read in this forum some people are using 2 monitor setup... one monitor would constantly display XLobby interface and second (projector) only zoom player (when lounched).

I use two monitor setup with Zoomplayer and it works beautifully with Xlobby. Same thing as you want except I don't uses a project for my second display but a TV.
