maybe there are conflicts. Are there 2 triggers for the same button, or two of the same events in the skin? I dont use xlobby, xlobby device it is just generic. In fact I only have one device listed thats my remote control. (too bad you have to delete device xmls to remove them) I would isolate whats going on. Clean up the event manager, and remove and reassign my triggers per events just to be safe.

I have tried everything. I even tried to clear out all event and IP plugin names and redo them all.

Is it possible there is a bug in xlobby?

I'm using Xlobby2 with Windows XP(SP2)

Are all you guys using a different operating system like Windows 2000,etc..?

thanks.

I'm using w2kpro, latest version of xlobby and a Russound remote that came with the stereo system we have, but the remote itself is a universal. Back in the day I played around with remote codes (vcr button being "phillips" or "sony" or whatever...) until we found one that both utilized the right buttons and put out a signal that xlobby seemed to decifer. I guess the only other thing I can think of is the driver or firmware of the usbuirt, which I'm not really sure of, but as far as I know they're the latest.

I'm using the most recent USB-UIRT drivers(v1.4) downloaded right from the website a few days ago.

I download a trial of sagetv which also supports USB-UIRT.

I was able to get it setup in 5 minutes so the USB-UIRT and my regular TV remote can control all the navigation buttons( Up, down, left, right, enter)

Its amazing that Sagetv did in 5 minutes what I have been spending 5 days trying to get xlobby to do which is simple use the remote.

I have tried Xlobby with USB-UIRT on 3 separate computers all running Windows XP and get the same results.

I think that I must be setting something wrong in the trigger process or maybe there is a bug in xlobby for my operating system or something.

I honestly can't figure this out.

I think it must have to do with Xlobby not having the signal trigger the event(up,down, left, right, enter) for some reason.

Someone listed Girder as being a possible option?

I downloaded a trial version of Girder and it opens up with a list of program that it can control such as Winamp but I don't see Xlobby as being one of the program.

It has an option to manually add a program in the format of a GML file. Does someone make a .GML file for Xlobby?

At this point, I'm getting pretty desparate. I am even downloaded a trial of VMware in order to try to install different operating systems on my computer in order to see if it will work wtih Xlobby.

I don't understand what I'm doing wrong here. Can anyone send me maybe some screen shots of how they have it setup in Xlobby to make this work? I believe everything has been done correctly but its just not working.

Try setting up a new device in the IR plugin and not using the xlobby, xlobby, xlobby device.Use test remote(or any name you like).
Just learn the left code for now.
So basically do everything the same except use your "test remote" device instead of xlobby, xlobby, xlobby

Xlobbyer, I have my remote set up under a different alias. Makes no difference for me.
Maybe I should try setting mine up using the xlobby alias and use triggers and stuff that were already set up..

So I'd hate to open up an old wound, but I just came accross this problem again. I had a little hiatus there, but now I'm running a new computer. It's xp w/ media center. The computer is great, xlobby is running great, no problem with ripped dvds or music. I finally got the usbuirt plugin online again and I was so pumped. I learned up a couple codes, linked the navigation events to the ir triggers... Nothin. The damn test button does it fine, the keyboard navigation buttons do it fine, but I've tried multiple remotes now with the same result. It learns the code fine, the test function works fine, I've checked all of my navigation settings, there aren't any button conflicts or anything... I'm so freakin pissed off at this crap... Anybody have any ideas? I'm gonna go look around for some more usbuirt info/documentation/posts... So if anybody has any ideas, speak up.
(And by the way, I know all about girder and xremote and all that crap. I'm considering it, but none-the-less, the usbuirt plugin should still be working... So if anybody tells me that I should be using girder, I might just have to come over there and pistol whip them... Just a warning...)
