variable set ?

hi everyone,
i am rather new to xlobby.
so there's a lot of unknown features for me.

here's my problem

I 'd like to send the nowplaying>%artist% to category>music>artist

is it possible ?

i'd try but there's no results ...
anyone ?

I have tried a lot of time ( too much for my boss ...) but still i can't find a solution.

perhaps
there's no way of doing it :cry:

Not sure if you have tried or this is too obvious...

Use 'Save to Variable' command to capture your nowplaying>%artist% (to say a variable 'ArtistNow')

And then use 'ArtistNow' as the value in the Set Variable command.

it seems that it works ..... a bit ...

that's sounds strange but here it's what I have:

after what you say:
the most of times the category>music>artist ==audioplayer>now>artist
but some times category>music>artist=="variousartist" ?????
and i don't have a variousartist in my database. !!!!

the big pb is that I'm not able to filter the music database by the artist ?
I'd tried the filter fonction and it seems not working ...

any idea ?

The only thing that springs to mind is that the db is taking a different ID3 tag field from the MP3 track.

Have you checked the tags on the MP3 files?

It sounds like your mp3 tag is messed up, Or it is how XL imports. If an album has multiple performers in a given folder, then XL will assume its various artists not a single artists' albumn. You can double check this by going to edit database in f2 and seeing the album tree that was imported. Make sure your albums are one artist. And/ or the mp3 is coded that way.
