In the rack I have:
network switch
wireless router
NAS
4x2 HDMI switch
VGA -> cat5 8 port hub
power supply with digital voltage meter, amperage, etc
2 HK AVR630 processor/recievers
HTPC 1
pull-out keyboard/mouse/monitor
PS3
Wii
HTPC 2
12 channel amplifier
In regards to distribution:
Each of the touchscreens video signal going over cat5 from the hub, with the exception of one which has a separate video signal from the other HTPC. In that case I use a Cat5-KVM. Two of the touchscreens are RS-232, I use a simple unpowered rs232-> cat5 cable. The other two touchscreens are USB interface. I have one powered USB-cat5 (2.0) and one inline powered usb-cat5 extender (1.0).
rs232 control, all over cat5:
AVR630 #1
AVR630 #2
LG plasma
Optoma Projector
HDMI 4x2 switch
Video:
720p split in two rooms, HDMI
Audio
2 5.1 zones of audio
5 zones of stereo in-ceiling or bookshelf speakers (powered by 12 channel amp). each zone currently controlled with manual wall volume controls. Soon to be replaced with XL. I have the hardware I just need to update my skin.
LED lights:
share the 12v power supply I use for my CCTV cameras
door mounted magnetic switched (3 closets)
CCTV cameras:
BNC video and power over 1 cat5
4 various outdoor cameras
4 single channel IP servers
Each room of the house has VGA, rs232, data, phone, and coax ports. In the basement I have a sub-panel where I store the modem for the house, phone switches, cable distribution, and a cat5 patch panel for flexibility which ties the rack to the house distribution.
