Button to switch a categories layout

Postby scottw on Fri Dec 29, 2006 1:51 pm

I have my music listed by Artist showing the coverart. Sometime's my wife just wants to se a list of artists instead of all of the covers. I would like to make a button that would allow me to switch back and forth between text display and covers.

Anyone have an idea on how to do this???

Not sure if you can do it with a command but you could clone the screen and create a new category linked to the same database with the no cover layout. Sure it is cheating but it is also simple and works fine.

Yeah, I just tried that a few minutes ago. I cloned the screen and just changed the layout and added a button to the original screen kept the same category name (not sure if that will have any bad effects or not). It has the effect I was looking for which is fine with me.

Thanks,

Maybe, if you use set database command and specifiy the layout but use the same reference database.
