Screwed Up My DVD Profiler 3.1 Importing

Postby Nubio on Thu Dec 27, 2007 3:07 pm

i've been using the free Xlobby with DVD Profiler for a couple of years now with no problems....even after DVD Profiler 3.1 was updated, i was able to use the CCV conversion utility fine

but recently i was tinkering with XL, and re-installed the last free XL....now i am not getting all my DVD coverart to show up in XL....some does and some doesn't...i notice when i go into the Edit screen of the Movies Database, the path to the coverart is different for different DVDs....and some DVDs show no path to coverart....i think, but have not confirmed, that the DVDs that are showing the coverart are the ones where the path is to the location where DProf. use to store images, not under Documents & Settings where they're stored now...i can manually link the DVDs to the coverart, but obviously that's not the way i want to do it

Question: Under the Import tab of the Databases screen, what goes in the Folder box of the DVD Profiler Settings area, the path to where DVD Prof is installed or where DVD Prof stores images (Documents&Settings....) ? i have the path to the collection.xml file created by CCV in the XML box

soooo, what XL setting can i be missing? :?

make sure in your movies template, path to DVD PROFILER data base is c:\documents and settings\<windows user id>\dvd profiler\databases\default (or similar, browse to it). This should pickup everything

thanks for the response, but just for my clarification, we're talking about the Import tab of the Databases section, with Template: Movies selected, correct?

in which box do i enter the path to the DVD Profiler database? the "Paths" box in the right middle of "Import" screen, or the "Folder" box down below in the DVD Profiler Settings area?

and if it goes in the "Paths" box, what goes in the "Folder" box below?

- sorry: i am at work now, and don't have the HTPC in front of me, so can't figure it out on my own by trial & error :D

I understand, same here (at work)

I'll have to look tonight at mine. I can't recall the exact wording. I'll post when I get home.

Databases, Import tab, Movies template

Lower right:
Folder: This points to the DVD Profiler folder in your my documents directory. It should be something like c:\documents and settings\<user name>\my documents\DVD Profiler\databases\default
XML should be c:\collection.xml (by default, but never the less it should point to where your converted export file is located. Also make sure "ALL MOVIES" is marked under DVD Profiler settings towards the left. I have nothing in the box that says "import from"

Hope this helps you!
