Help - xlobby2 basic install problems

I've followed the steps for installing xlobby2 from Badabing's guide, but xlobby simply hangs on startup. No block screen, but the program status msg is "Waiting". I did install .Net 1.1 before this, too.

I can get the pre-release v14 xlobby to run and get the generic Gui. But, if I try to load any skin and restart using it, xlobby exits out at the browser stage, I think.

My OS is MCE 2005 - anyone out there have similar problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have an internet connection on that machine, otherwise the weather plugin can cause problems.

Yes - my htpc is connected to the internet.

Do I have to configure any other settings before I switch skins to KISS, or HeavyMetal?

Are there known conflicts with other programs? I run PowerStrip for custom resolutions, and I have tried turning off AutoKiller (comes with TheaterTek) thinking that somehow Xlobby was being terminated on startup.

Is there a command-line debug mode I can run Xlobby in to see exactly what stage it's stopping during startup?

p.s. This weekend, I will install XP Pro on a different set of hard drives and try again to setup and run xlobby on that OS.

Quick update - after fresh install of MCE 2005, xlobby works...never could figure out what was the SW conflict earlier.
