Postby andymorgan1 on Mon Jan 16, 2006 11:17 pm

Hi all

Is anyone able to tell me how to insert an abc overlay onto my web browser page so I can type in text for things like google search etc?

Cheers

I use Windows' On-Screen Keyboard (osk.exe). It's easier than programming all the keys! I added a button on the browser screen to launch it. Also, I changed my default home page for the browser to a local html page with lots of buttons for the pages I usually view. Works fine for me on the touchscreen.

Is there an alternative to Windows On-screen Keyboard?

What I am trying to do I think is similar to andy:

I want to show an overlay that has a keyboard layout on it.
When I press "A" on the overlay, I want that to translate to, as far as Windows is concerned, the same as me pressing "A" on the physical keyboard.

I would like this so I can input text into programs when using the XMoveWindow plugin.

Gritmaster, I use a free on-screen keyboard called Click-N-type which I find more convenient than Microsoft's. I don't know whether it will suit your particular purpose, but it comes with an editor so that you can design your own keyboard.
