XLobbby Runtime Error

Postby thekochs on Thu Aug 17, 2006 4:06 pm

OK,

I've been using XLobby for awhile and recently did a XP Home to XP Pro SP2 upgrade (thus all program intact). The upgrade went well and 99% of my programs work fine....some small items needed cleaning up. BUT, when I run XLobby I get the below:

Common Language Runtime Debug Service
Application Generated An Exception That Could Not Be Handled
Process ID=0x1dc (476), Thread ID - 0x824 (2684)

Any ideas ?

I have not used the installer, currently only Framework 1.1 isntalled but using the old XLobby foir 1.1. I planned to down MS Framework 2.0 and try the new XLobby Installer.

Thanks.

Have you tried checking whether your .Net needs to be updated for XP Pro? Why not install .net 2.0 while you're at it and upgrade to the latest .exe. Lots of cool new features...

Hmmmm......interesting. It had Net 1.1 installed as Home Edition, when I upgraded the Net 1.1 showed in ADD/REMOVE. Perhaps I should uninstall, let Windows Update see it gone and download/re-install ?

My next step IS to download MS Framework 2.0 and also use the new XLobby installer which I assume has the latest ? I just wanted to get the above working first.

Let me know your thoughts.....thanks very much.

Not sure whether Windows Update would automatically search for and install .net. I know I had to do it manually. No harm in uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that fixes your problem though. You could also try the .net service pack.

Well,

Not sure the issue but I saved off my old Xlobby Folder and ran the new installer.........nice to have this ! Anyway, I first installed MS Framework 2.0. Everything is fine now. I need to go back and update/config but all works so far.
