Help each other out

play audio cd

Postby lar282 on Thu Oct 20, 2005 8:27 am

Steven now when you are not playing BF2 can u check if your play audio cd works with foobar?

Nothing happens when I try it and if I do it from foobar directly it works so nothing is locking the drive.

if it works for u, can u post the version of the foobar plugin please. Maybe I have the wrong one.

Another thing. HOW does xlobby know WHAT cd it is suppose to play an audio cd from? What happens if u have 2 or 3 drives?

Regards

Ok, figured somthing out. I cannot use the command play audio cd if I do not use the Autoplay cda feature in Xlobby. IF I use the popup, then it works. If I just press Play audio cd it does not!!!!

Something u can fix Steven? Or are u back to playing BF2? -:)

Figured a third thing out. If the mediatypes.xml looks like this:
<name>audiocd</name>
<extentions>cda</extentions>

It does NOT work. THIS works

<name>audio cd</name>
<extentions>cda</extentions>

Now, thats wierd....

Still it would be REALLY nice to be able to play a cd without using the autoplay function. Come on Steven stop playing war and come back to the reall world of your own creation XLOBBY.

I haven't figured out how to do that with foobar. I even tried to write a plugin that created a database with just the tracks on the cd and let xl play it, but noop. steven must release the foobar plugin source or explain how he did this cause I'm lost in space.

I need foobar cause I use the replaygain function

XAnt creates database from freedb for your CD Audio

it was as simple as /play e: BUt then I cannot control the tracks through XL and XL does show its playing.Grrrrrr

I still think for beginners it would be a good idea to have a command in XL to play drive x

I will look into xant this weekend. U French guys have so many plugins I can't keep track of em!

making all my mp3:s sound the same, otput wise. So when playing one song its 85 Db and next 99Db. I hate that.replaygain takes care of that. Haven't found another player doing that, plus I really like foobar.

if you set ffdshow to control MP3 Playback,
you can set normalisation thru it, thus making all songs the same :D

Well I don't wanna touch the encodin gor the files. Foobar just scans the file and add the Db to the tag and when playing the file u set the gain u want. Plus I cant use ffdshow with XL to play files.

Thanks for the tip though.
