Btw for the sync button, if you decide to integrate it, you could use the nav_refresh button from the MP skin you used.

Thanks for the great skin... Been using it for a while now...!

I am trying to create a new "My Pictures" menu and as im new to this i am having trouble...

I have managed to create the new screen and have it all working but i have my pictures in folders and once i enter a folder i cant seem to come back out without going back to the menu...

also I would like to eventually be able to do a slideshow of the photos in each folder too...?

any help would be appreciated...

bradley,

you'd probably be better off asking these questions in the forum as a whole since these aren't specific to the skin (if i knew how to work out all the kinks i would have added them myself :) )

what doesn't work for sage?

Sage should be running, asleep, in the background. Pressing the 'My TV' button will wake Sage up and correctly transfer focus if you are using Sage 4 or higher.

If you are running SageClient a minor find/replace needs to be done on one of the command files.

Dumb Question???

Postby drew on Mon Mar 13, 2006 7:27 pm

I just saw you post in the Sage forum, stating you can control a Sage client, without having the Xlobby screens visable {sp) on the client (using the ppc).

My question is can you have the standard Xlobby screens show on the ppc, while Xlobby is minizied (sp) on the Sage client, and just go to the Xlobby screen on the ppc when you want to watch Sage.???

The reson I ask is I have a 350 on my client, and can't display any other screen other then Sage screens, But want to remote control it with Xlobby.

Thanks in Advance

Yes, you can minimize XLobby on your client box and control it Sage or SageClient via it with a ppc. They are not the exact same screens though, but instead modified and designed to work best on a ppc.

You'll need to follow the simple find/replace instructions to switch my commands from regular Sage to SageClient at the bottom of the first post, and then load the xlobbysd.exe and and it's config file onto your ppc. Directions for setting up your ppc can be found in the 'Help' section above.

Two questions. Is there an easy way, using your skin, to display more albums at one time on screen? Right now my comp displays six, could I easily display 12?

Second, do I have to do anything special to get the ppc screens to work correctly besides getting the client to work?

nope, you don't have to do anything special for the client screens to work

if you press 'Pause/Break' you can edit the properties of the category to have a different number of rows and columns

Possible to use your Skin Without Changing Sages ??

Postby 95Tbird on Sun Apr 02, 2006 4:14 pm

Hi Naylia:

1st I'd like to say that I just "Discovered" XLobby & all I can say is WOW!! //Whine I really wish I'd tried it before I'd wasted my time & money on M****o. //Whine Ok I feel better now... I'm Using Sage for My TV but Tried The MC Skin & had Problems (Main & most annoying was loss of the transparent guide with video displayed behind it). So what I'd like to do is call Sage with your Skin while keeping the default Sage skin ... Is this possible??

Thanks!!

yup, that will work fine for you. All XLobby really does is wake and sleep Sage. There might be the need for a minor mod to the send message command that wakes Sage. I can't think of it off the top of my head...but it's whatever command is tied to the My TV button on the main menu. It is setup to wake sage, and then go to the My TV screen (which doesn't exist in other STVs).

You can use the event manager to delete the 2nd sendmessage command in whatever event 'My TV' uses.

Hi Naylia,

Now that the decision to end my love-hate relationship with a certain other front end has been made for me, I thought that I would give Xlobby another try. It's been nearly a year since I last looked at your skin and all I can say is...Wow. Nicely done. You have really come a long way. I just wanted to drop this note to say that your hard work is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Aloha,
Mike

Since the recent xlobby upgrade I get the following exception after using (or even just opening and closing) the skineditor:

Code: Select all
************** Exception Text **************
System.ArgumentException: Invalid name character in '<exitevent>'. The '<' character, hexadecimal value 0x3C, cannot be included in a name.

Subsequently, Xlobby won't start after that, throwing the following:

It appears that the music_audiocd.xml gets hosed to 0k. When it's replaced Xlobby will start again but any changes made in the previous screen editor session are lost. Can someone verify this problem?

what happens if you yank the audiocd.xml file out of the xlobbyMC directory, then boot xlobby, then open the skin editor? also try removing the plugins used...i wonder if it's an issue with the newer version and the audiocd lookup plugin.

i have not updated versions in a very long time...and sounds like I might not want to :)
