HELP!

Are there any "Idiot guide to setting up Xlobby" floating around for a REAL newb?? I read baddabings and it was more a very basic buffer. I am having ALL sorts of problems. Again, having had a modded Xbox, I am pretty familiar with setting up something similar (editing xml and such) but I am stumped on a number of things.

(Examples) Emulators. Importing database from rom2lobby, everything seems like I SHOULD be seeing the roms but I see nothing.

Music- Using monkeymedia to tag mp3 collection, then import, all is fine but some of the cover art is TOTALLY screwed (distorted and jumbled) up.

I am using the "Heavy Metal (16x9)" skin at the moment.

Movies- Is there a better way of creating (and exporting into xlobby) a database? I am using dvdprofiler but the images suck! I replaced with dvdempire high res images but that could be a LOT of work!

I would like to use an app that would automatically scan in the names of movies per the directory and update info accordingly. Any help is appreciated.

Use ANT and the XANT plugin. ANT (Ant Movie Catalog) has a script to natively connect to DVDEmpire for movie covers. Works great...just a little bit of setup, but judging by you statement, that shouldn't bother you too much.

As for your rom2xlobby...I had a problem that sounded kinda similar to yours. I posted something here asking for help. If I can find the post, I will link it here.

Thanks for that. I did try ant (just a few minutes) but didn't like the way it looked/worked. I didn't give it much time obviously. Can you set this to automatically scan your directorys and create a database by what it finds?

XScan may work for this (I think). Check out C-moi's first post here:

That thread also has some other good tips and links to read.

As for my rom2Xlobby post. It can be found here (pages 4 and 5). You may have to download the most recent version of rom2xlobby.

Hope this all helps.
