XML into a database for photos (variable versus DB FIeld)

Postby ChrisR on Mon Feb 27, 2006 5:58 am

I've been using Adobe Photoshop to place tags on my photos for about 6 months. Now, I want to view these photos on XLobby but I am having trouble with "modifying/creating" a database that will read in XML for "place", "family", "Italy" etc.
I think I'm confused about a variable and a field.
If I'm importing the photos and they've been tagged by Adobe , how do I capture all the fields that I've applied as Tags for the photos in my XLobby database?

ANY Help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I don't think that's possible in XLobby at the moment - but it's a god damn good feature request! :-)

When you say tagged your pictures are you refering to IPTC data within your pictures? If so the Frech team has a utility that will scan a folder of pictures and import the IPTC data and write everything to an Xlobby DB. The tool is called Xparameter and can be found by searching the forums for Release by the French team. Sorry I can't be of more help but I don't speak french, but give it a look and I'm sure you can piece it together.

The tool is called Xparameter

M51 changed his name : now this tool is named Xscan cause XParameter will be another tool developped by The Lynx.

Thanks for oyyur help. Still researching. Adobe Photoshop doesn't show that info and I haven't had any success with their tech support. But I'll keep trying :D and I'll let you know.
