compatable dvd software

Can anyone give advice on a good dvd player? I've tried theater tek and am not to impressed. Just looking for something simple, that users have had success with and were able to use remotes with and toggle between the dvd software and xlobby.

From what I have seen here, there are a few people using Theater Tek, the rest are split between Zoomplayer and Media Player Classic. The only one that I have used is Zoomplayer, and I have been very happy with it.
It will interface with Girder easily for remotes. Xlobby also communicates very well with Zoomplayer.

Hope this helps!

YEah, go with Zoom, it is not the best player for the desktop, but definitely best for HTPC integration! :-)

TheatreTek works fine, controling it via xlobby is easy...

"out of the box" the picture is also a lot better than the others.

I'm a huge advocate of Media Player Classic - simple, barebones... and that's all I need.

+1 for Zoom Player. It actually has a lot in common with Xlobby -- both are the most highly customizable apps of their kind.

Another for ZoomPlayer. Extremely tweakable. I have a tremendous picture now. I haven't touched it in months.

Plus, I had a chance to meet Yaron (known as Blight on the forums) at CES last month and have to say, he is really a very nice guy and truly knows his stuff.

I like to support good folks :)

I have used both TT and ZP in conjunction with XL. TT has a better picture and playback. ZP is way, way more configurable and has better sound plugins. ZP is easier to control inside XL. But TT is controllable. If you dont care about staying inside XL (having a foreground player) personally I enjoy NeroShowtime. I love its zoom, step features, response and playback. I currently use ZP in my skin.

heres my post
http://www.xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... implevideo

it does work with xlobby you just need to adjust the command lines, i use xlobby to call up a stripped down verion of myhtpc (movies only) because i prefer the way myhtpc does the catagores bt i did have it woking with xlobby movies.
