trouble with directory containing only one file

Postby suutar on Mon Sep 25, 2006 4:45 pm

I'm categorizing a bunch of video files I have lying around, and some category directories only have one file in them. I can't get to those files in the category tool.

The file is showing up in the database fine, and directories that have more than one file open up fine. I assume that the category is saying "hey, this dir has only one thing. The dir must be an item itself, so I should go use that Info Screen thing. Hey, there's not one! I'll do nothing."

So, the obvious question is, how do I get category to stop trying to use info screen (since I don't really see needing an info screen for these, I just want to launch the thing)? And if that's not possible, will editing the database to bring files that are alone in their dir up a level (so the dir isn't in the database) work?

I've posted a Bug on this - http://www.xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=33094#33094

Hopefully Steven will have time to fix it.

As for editing the database you could do that and bring the files up a level, or you can add a dummy entry in the DB at the current level and that will fix it.

good luck,

I think I'm gonna go with the database manipulation. For various reasons (okay, mostly because I know how to process text better than I know how to tickle xlobby :) I plan to have my linux box automatically generate database files anyway; this is just one more thing to remember about the result :)
