Help with remote needed!

Postby dangerkipper on Fri Jun 11, 2004 6:10 pm

I was overjoyed to discover X Lobby as its exactly what I wanted for my HTPC. The one part that I am really having trouble getting to work however is the remote control.

I have searched on the forums and read numerous posts on getting Girder to work but the whole thing is really driving me mad now!

Basically, I want to press a button on my remote to say activate the home button on the music page via my irMan and girder.

Is this possible and how on earth do you do it?

The transmitter and receiver are definitely working as i can control winamp using codes but i just cant figure out how to activate the buttons on the pages!

Any help very gratefully received!!

Hi,

Take a look at this post :
http://www.xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1565

once installed and configured, what you will only have to do is :

in xlobby :
press pause, select the button you want to call, find the event it calls.

in girder
open the generated xml, find the event corresponding to the button, learn the button of your remote and it should works

help with remote

Postby dangerkipper on Sat Jun 12, 2004 10:50 am

Thanks

I tried installing the plugin using the instructions in the readme (put the .dll and the .ini in the plugins dir, edited the .ini file and copied xerces-c_2_5_0.dll to system32) but now girder gives me an error message when loading - 'the application has failed to start because MSVCR70.dll was not found'

It then tells me that it cant load the Girder2Xlobby plugin!

Girder then starts up but obviously the plugin doesnt work. I have tried reinstalling Girder with no success.

Any ideas what i am doing wrong?

Hi,

this dll is a dll from MS :

you can find it at

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-f ... ml?msvcr70

download the .zip, and copy the MSVCR70.dll in your suytem32 directory.

Shutdown girder and restart it

Hope this help
