Jowaldo's skin - Beta1

Well instead of waiting until I got the ppc screens done (some are in here, but definitley not complete) I decided to give a copy of whats done so far out.

Just make sure you are using the newest build of xlobby that is on the announcments page, otherwise pretty much nothing will work. This skin looks ok for the most part on a 16x9 display, but with a small amount of tweaking looks good, except a few backgrounds.

Here is my ToDo list in order as of now:

- Make a now playing screen for music.
- Finish ppc screens
- Make sure for every style of button I include blank templates to be able to use xlobby text over them
- Clean up eventgroups
- Add games section
- Make a drop down menu for the green category box in the top left for quick switching of music/movies/pictures/etc...
- Make a customized 16x9 version of the skin
- add multizone support

plus lots of random things i can't think of at the moment.

Please let me know what you guys think, any bugs and comments to improve my skin..

Also ask away for custom buttons, screens and other things..

Thanks. I just did a quick try and WOW ! Just as I expected - amazing skin !
I'm using a 16x9 hdtv and the skin looks great on it. Just need to tweak the images under the "pictures screen"since it is not filling up the entire screen (there's a black border on the right side). Not sure if the image should stretch to fill the screen or maybe because the pictures I have are 4x3 's ?

I noticed I don't seem to be able to quit Xlobby with the "X" in the top right.

MR,

What version are you using? I'm using version 40.1 A and the exit works fine for me.

yeah it won't work right unless you have pretty much the very newest build since I have the eventgroups folder under the skin folder. That won't work unless you are using the newest...

GREAT SKIN

Its a great skin, i have it all working apart from news in the UK.

Iv changed the webcams to my local city and have also picked 3 cams that are on the motorway on the way to work in the morning.

All in all Im very happy :D

If anyone could help me with the news it would be a big help.

Have not tried films on it as this setup is in the bathroom so wont need to watch films there :shock: well not yet anyway

What I also like is the fact that the skin is completly in 1 folder, inculding an event folder etc.

jowaldo, excellent skin man! Great work! I hope it inspires many others to create and share their own skins.
Only thing I can't figure out, is how to get to the settings (help) menu?

Haha forgot to add a link to that one, just another thing for me to add to the list of todo's ;)
You should be able to get to it tho just by hitting f1 though.

BlindMan : F1 to get into help

This is a great skin, starting to play around with it and tweaking to fit my 16x9 screen. Testing it out with some music, movies and pictures.

Actually, this is the first time I really started using xlobby and have some rookie questions/problems?

1- on the music album page, when there's more than 12 songs, how do you get the down arrow to scroll down to the song 13, 14 .....

2- I got the movie page to work by loading my movie directories with the cover art jpg in the folder, click play and it starts zoomplayer/movie.
Now started playing around with DVDProfiler, how do I get the xml file to interface with the movies on the harddrive. Or how to set up for the ripped movies vs insert DVD movies.

3- when clicking the weather page, the pages starts all red. I have to click refresh to get the forecast. Is there a way to do this when starting the weather page,

1: there should be a up and down arrow to the right of the song/track listings

2: sounds like you have a dvd database already, so just hit f2 then go to databases, highlight movies, then click the import tab. Under import to db, make sure movies is selected, then at the bottom under dvd profiler settings, under "folder" just choose the location where dvd profiler is installed, then under "xml" find the xml file you exported from it. then hit import and it should work, although the counter that says how many are getting imported doesn't really show any new ones being imported.

3: hit f2 then go to the misc tab, and choose load http images on startup. I am going to fix this in the next version of my skin though. I will make an event that after the goto command to go to that specific weather page, it does a refresh command automatically.

1: yeah, thats what I mean, seems the arrows lost the link or something. Or maybe I messed them up. I'll try from a fresh start tonight and see if they work un-modified.

2/3: I'll play around with this also.
