Problems setting up XShoutcast plugin

Postby CarolinaGuy on Sat Dec 23, 2006 6:35 pm

I downloaded XShoutcast.zip
Extracted the two files XShoutcast.xml and XShoutcast.dll

Next I created a NEW FOLDER under C:\Program Files\xlobby\plugins\ called XShoutcast
In this folder I placed XShoutcast.xml and XShoutcast.dll

I then edited the XSHOUTCAST.XML for XShoutcast Config to read:
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
- <XShoutcastConfig>
Version 1.0
- <Genres>
<Genre>TopTen</Genre>
<Genre>Country</Genre>
</Genres>
<MinBitrate>128</MinBitrate>
<MaxStationsPerGenre>60</MaxStationsPerGenre>
<Database>C:\Program Files\xlobby\databases\shoutcast.xml</Database>
</XShoutcastConfig>

I created a BLANK SHOUTCAST.XML document and placed it in C:\Program Files\xlobby\databases\

I then started X-Lobby.

Selected F2 and plugins
At this point XShoutcast shows Type as Database and Status as Initialized.
I highlight XShoutcast and selected CONFIG

Under the CONFIG screen I selected TOP TEN and COUNTRY

For DATABASE I selected the blank Shoutcast.xml in the database folder

Selected Max Stations 60
Min Bitrate 128

CLICKED APPLY, nothing changes so I EXIT

Then under EVENTS,
I add a Group call SHOUTCAST
Under shoutcast I add an EVENT - refresh_db_Cat

Next under plugin Command Window
I added
Plugin -- XShoutcast
Command -- Execute
Variable -- Shoutcast country

Then when I select TEST I get this ERROR Message"
"Unhandled Exception -- Index out of range"

This is all new to me, I need help, I made a mistake. Tell me where I went wrong and what I need to do to fix this

Also can a "BUTTON" be add to the to the menu page for Music.

THANKS

Variable -- Shoutcast country

Is this under the refresh command? Why did you say Shoutcast country, and not just Shoutcast?

This is what I have:

Code: Select all
Shoutcast Refresh

Plugin: Shoutcast
Command: refresh_db_cat
Variables: Shoutcast

Hope this helps

Marbles,

THANKS, that did it, it's working now.

Why did I do it? Inexperience, programing, writing computer code and learning a second language are not my strong attributes!!!!

Again, THANKS.

No probs, glad you got it working.

I agree, coding is not my strong point either.

Have a Merry Hoo Hoo. :lol:
