How can I hide the black DOS screen that appears when loading ROMS in M.A.M.E from XL?

I'm not sure what MAME is and I may be completely wrong, but are you launching some batch (*.bat) file that is loading ROMS and pops up with this black DOS screen?

MAME is an arcade games emulator http://www.mame.net. I'm launching using the OS:execute command in XL and pass it the rom file as a parameter.

Hmm, why don't you use the windows version? It doesn't display DOS window :-) It only displays progress bar for unzipping the rom (but it blinks only briefly for around 1 second).

Thanx I'll give it a try. My initial thoughts were that the Win version will launch a GUI.

It was a long time ago when i set it up, but 100% on my config it runs fullscreen. There is just a window with progress bar for 1-2 seconds, then it dissapears and then it's fullscreen.
