Winamp with Wincue plugin

... and what about the screen outputs from applications/plugins. For example WinCue has search combos to filter playlist and the list shows numbers as in a Jukebox.

not sure I really undestand what wincue will give you, xlobby uses winamp to play music files thats it. It doesnt even use winamp's playlist system....accept for storing the current and next file to play.

Personally, I have to agree, actually I have never even seen win cue, but OzBodd is surgicaly attached to his .
According to the WinCue site its.....

is a playlist manager and MiniDisc recording tool for Winamp. It is a Winamp general purpose plug-in which makes it easier to manage your media file collection and record MiniDiscs, using an internal Media Library or external playlist files.

The Media Library consists of any number of specified folders on your computer. When the Media Library is loaded, the folders are scanned, and all the media files are listed in WinCue. This makes it easier to keep track of a large media file collection that might be spread over several drives and directories

Sounds a lot like what I can get with Xlobby. Maybe Ozbodd will enlighten us all

I guess I may have overstated my attachment!

What I like about WinCue is the following

A filter box which filters songs as you type - Great for locating an artist in a large list, WinCue plays the songs (Randomly) directly from the filtered list - Similar to playlist but are dynamic.

Finally I like the Jukebox mode which just takes a track number from the database (Using the numeric keypad) I have a printed list of my mp3's with the track number (Generated by WinCue). If a song isn't cued it commences random play from the media library. Fantastic for parties.

I thought there may be an easy way to incorporate it, or perhaps you are able to build these functions directly into xlobby???

the functionality will have to be built in xlobby itself, since the playlist is stored internally and this is done so I can support other players in the future.

Just make some feature requests detailing exactly how it works so I know how to make it. As far as filtering...you can already do that with the alphabet overlay or the track search overlay.

Just one thing about the filter keyboard overlay? I found that I was able to filter the artist name however I could not figure how to get the track to play from there. It just always closed.

What is supposed to happen from the filter - Play the track? Play all songs by that artist?
