Xlobby and Homeseer parallel port interface board

Postby andymorgan1 on Thu Jan 19, 2006 10:58 pm

Hi all...I use a parallel port interface board within homeseer to control my home watering system using a homeseer plugin. However, I am unable to trigger neither a direct command or an event to turn these devices on or off. I have no problems with other devices. When I send a direct command it will turn the device staus to on but does not trigger the relay on the parallel port board. When I send an event it does nothing.
I am thinking that maybe because it has a strange device string? The one I am trying to trigger is [ 2 as opposed to a normal srting like A1 or B4
Any ideas?

Cheers

You could have an event in homeseer that when an normal X10 command is received (eg A1 on) it switches the Parallel port output.

How are you sending the command to Homeseer from Xlobby?

Thanks Tim...I have events set up in homeseer to turn on and off different ports based on absolute time/date triggers in homeseer. With other events that I wanted to use via xlobby I just used the TriggerEvent option in xlobby and this triggered my event in homeseer. This has worked OK but not with the parallel ports.
I will try your suggestion though..Thanks
