problems with axim x50v

Postby rubbah on Thu Jan 13, 2005 7:24 am

hello.. just got my new axim x50v, well that's nice.
then i try to install the compact .net framework.. i get an error. " this program is made for an earlier verson of windows ce and not everything will function proppely" (something like that)

then i try to run xlobby2sd.exe.. it thinks for a couple of seconds and hangs.

i also tried to run xlobby2sd without having my xlobby server running, then i get an error message saying unable to connect. so i guess something has to be working.

i'm running windows ce v 4.2.xxx

Hey, I just got mine on monday. Xlobby works no problem.

1 - x50v runs wm2003 which already has .net framework in it.
2 - You may have stuffed up the .net by trying to install an older package - dare i suggest a hard reset (don't you just hate hard resets?)

Later
Simon.

hehe.. just did a hard reset! nice way to start the day :)

well still got the same problem, just can't get the xlobby2sd running.

when i execute the file it starts loading then it hangs when the program title comes up in the upper right corner. guess i must be doing something wrong but what?

my server.txt is

server:10.0.0.5
screen:ppcmenu
resolution:auto
quality:100%
zone:1

I just got the x50v a couple weeks ago and had no problem with xlobby. You don't need to install .net, the new version is already installed in the x50's os.

All that I did is install the latest xlobby files in the download section, and set the correct server ip address. I enabled the server ability on my htpc xlobby software. Then started up the client and it was up and running.
