disappearing text

I noticed that No. of albums, number of tracks and page info disappeared from all of my music screens on the XL server only. Well, with the exception of Filter.

Accoding to the skin editor they are there (see pic) and a look at one of the fat clients' xml is nearly identical to the sever's music screen - except for text justification. Using the Aug 4th XL EXP release on all machines.

What did I do and how can I restore visibility? :oops:

Are u sure that box is big enough to your font type and size to fit in?

and make sure that your text zone is on top...

in the skin editor: select your zone then in item>default press the button "front"

Also check that alpha value is not maxed in your font color :wink:

Thanks guys.

Somewhere along the line the font in those areas went from medium center to large italicblue.

That was the difference I saw on the xmls but wasn't aware of the consequences :roll:

Well, it wasn't me. Some of the text keeps diappearing on the clients. The original font and positioning was correct.

I can fix part of this on one, copy the folder and overwrite the XL folder on another client and the text may or may not be restored.

Going to try the latest XL build. This is really odd stuff.

Ive noticed stuff moves around bit when u change resolution... could it be this mayby that rectangles just get smaller and causes text disappear...

One of these resolution changes totally ruined my skin...

You may have hit on something. (I did switch to the latest EXP build to no effect).

My 2 clients have different screen resolutions. I always back up changes I've made to one and restore one the other. I don't always backup (folder copy) from the same one.

This probably explains why I can fix one, back it up and restore on the other and see text disappearance.

Although, the further I do this, I'm seeing "actual text" gone from the skin editor in some cases - the variables are usually still there.

I think the thing for me to do here is to start fresh on my fat clients with a backup from my server. Then make separate backups for each of my clients.
