Theatertek on dual monitors

So I've got a couple problems now. I'll try to explain the setup real quick.
We've got a machine running xp media center edition and a videocard with a composite video out and vga out with nvidia geforce video accelerator. We have the VGA running to an infocus in72 projector via a 50' vga-m1 cable and the composite out running to a channelPLUS distribution system that feeds all the tvs in the house. We want to see the same thing on both the big screen as well as the tvs so I have the videocard running on "clone". It's unfortunate that we can't take advantage of the increased resolution of the projector, but we can live with that because it's mostly for the movies and they show up beautifully on the projector. The problem is when we turn on a tv to try to watch the movie. The movie will be playing great on the projector, but the tv just shows a black screen. When I pull up some menus, they show up on both screens perfectly. My brother says this is some media rights protection. 2 questions... Is he right? Is there any way around that? I guess 3 questions. If he's not right, does anybody know the problem and how to fix it?
The next thing is skin related I guess. Running KISS with some modifications. Since we're running 800x600, it's not working too well. The fonts are too big, for example, the splash screen says "XLobb..." Is there a way to fool it into thinking that it's on a bigger resolution only shrunk to fit the screen? I know I can change the font sizes and such, I was just wondering if there was an easier way than going through every screen and reducing the font by 30% or so.
Anyways, it's all comin together now and it feels great. If I can take care of these two things we'll for sure be in the home stretch.
Thanks in advance.

What video card and what drivers? If you are using Overlay as your renderer it will only show on the Primary monitor. If you do have TT set to use overlay switch to VMR9 and see if that helps.

good luck,

Ok, I noticed the overlay checkboxes, but I didn't really know what they were for and I didn't really want to mess it up any more, so I just left those as is. There are 3 I believe and they were all on overlay. I'll play with those and see if it works. Thanks

edit
I'm not sure on the card or the drivers. The card is a refurb and fairly no-name I think. But it's got nVidia acceleration, so it can't be that no-name. I'll see if I can dig some stuff up when I get home from work... (that's 6 hours away :?)

Ha ha! That did the trick. There were three choices, "DVD", "High Def." and "Media". I just changed them all from Overlay to vmr9 cause, A; I'm not really sure which our ripped dvds would count as, and 2; never know, maybe we'll end up setting up some other types of media.
But that did the trick for the movies. I watched Joe Dirt downstairs on the big screen while my brother and his girlfriend had it on the tvs upstairs. It was great.

Next is the whole resolution problem... But I guess since I haven't heard from anybody yet that there isn't really a good way to do this except design the whole skin for 800X600. Oh well. Maybe now is a good itme to play around with some of the other skins.
