Newbie Q... re number of covers displayed in Simplicity skin

Just playing with XLobby after having been 'dumped' by Meedio. Apologies if this is a RTFM Q but I have tried a few things to no real avail and still finding my way around.

Using the default 'Simplicity' skin - (I have a slightly bigger screen resolution though). How easy is it to change the size and number of the album covers displayed eg from the 4x2 that I see currently to say 6x3 ?? Is there a document that covers this that I can read ?

Welcome,
You will have to dig in the skin editor. There's a "skinning" guide in the help link above: http://xlobby.incolby.com/SkinningXlobbya40.2.htm#EditCatTab
Essentially what you need to do is change the column/ratio values of the music category to suit your need. But first you should probably get a little familiar with the whole skin editor interface.

Or if you want to change number of columns on the fly, just press plus or minus keys on numerical keyboard ...

Ahh great the + - works well - I was having difficulty in the skin editor as it wouldn't let me change the '4' to something else - although enabled , and highlight it just beeped when edited - must be something else I haven't found yet..

One other quick (newbie) Q. Where my albums have 'various' artists involved and my ID3 tags list individual artists per track the display is breaking them all out as single track individual albums , presumably because the display is ordered by 'artist'. I can understand some people like it this way but is there a way of treating such albums as one album listed under say 'Various Artists' ? I have almost three times the number of albums listed than I previously had.

During the import you can choose "Album" so that it lists the various albums as one (that's how I like it as well)

Mine was actually set to 'Album' in the Setup>Database>ID3 options area - but the Music button lists by Artist Name and has still broken all the albums with various artists into individual ones of one track each. I do tend to access my library from an artist root so that's how I would prefer but it's quite annoying as you can no longer play a 'various artists' album in its entirety , or see what's on it ... Maybe I need to get into skinning and create a display by Album Title button or something. Or maybe I can add a re-order by title/genre/artist button somehwere...
