Xlobby and Windows XP x64

Postby edgley on Tue Aug 09, 2005 3:36 pm

Hullo,

I am now running x64 as my OS.

The .net that works with it is only in Beta, but all of my other programmes that need it work fine.

However, XL, with a complety fresh install, just bombs out.

Any ideas what needs to be done for it to work on x64 please?

Thanks,

Simon.

I downloaded the switch CLR thing on and off.

But no matter which one I import, XL still doesnt work.

Thanks anyways.

I don't use x64, but I also don't think this is correct. Everything I've red so far bout x64 tells me that you can. x64 has support for 32 bit ....

hmm, I tried installing and it didnt. That was the only reason I went for this beta.

I'm off to try again.

Thanks!

Hi John,

Not really done much with it yet.

I cannt say that it seems much faster, and the lack of 64bit drivers can be a pain.
There are also problems using DXVA so Sage TV can only use its own decoders. Zoomplayer works okay.

I'll play with it over the weekend and post some more details.

On the other hand, Intels new dual core CPU rocks. Multitasking is a dream with it, I hardly ever max out both cores.

Simon.
