I am a thickie.

Please can you tell me how to watch my *.mpeg, *.mpg, *.avi files?

I have added my *.mp3s without problem ;-)

Welcome!

Do you have Zoomplayer already running on your system?
If not get it.

Once you have it installed and working, you just need to enable it in XL (in the F2 menu, File Types) and it should work.

Do you have a screen set up displaying all your movies, like for your music?

Simon.

Hi

Thanks for replying; I have now installed ZPlayer, and can run files, except I cannot catalogue my *.mpg, *,mpeg , *.avi as I did my *.mp3s.

The Xlobby DB scan does not see them, but a 'Play All' on the parent directory does find them for playback (could be a red herring). Can you help me list my *.mpegs for browsing?

I can help you with one way of doing it, but not the others.

I use DVDprofiler to build a catalogue of my DVD's first. I then export the xml file, which I then use in the movie section of XL.
Then you tell XL the path of your ripped moives; each of the ripped moives needs to be in its own folder.

XL will import the movies, and the path to automaticly play. Further more all the information from DVDProfiler (cast, year etc) gets passed over.

The other way is to use the meta tag things to import just from the ripped file structure, or there is a plug-in avaible to add movies.

Hi

I tired DVD profiler, and I added file extensions to ZPlayer, I am struggling with getting my movies (many home movies) into my library., DVD profiler is a red herring ;-)

Well, when you find out how, let me know as I need to do it to but havent got to it!

The answer is in the meta mask things, but I dont understand them. there is a post on here somewhere where someone (matt I think) goes through this process with success.

I import my dvd list easily, but do you need to set up the DB to somehow reference the folders individually?

ripped 20 DVD's so far, but still having an issue.

lastly, no matter which movie I try to play, the same avi loads, not the movie I select.

Please help.

Hi

I fixed it, use the databases:import; template=movies, import to=movies, file tag=custom, directory=ignore then add the folder..

Thanks to all that helped. :D
