oh yeah, I tried loading that skin in meedio to see how it worked, and I like the sound effects when you click buttons. I can't seem to find any sound files in the meedio install folder, or the skins folder. Anyone have a copy of the sounds in wav etc...?

nice work jowaldo.. i'm going to make this skin anyhow (i hope). even though i'd love to see you giving it a go i think it would be a pity if you had to stop working on jowaldo skin. it's nice to have difrent skins to choose from.

I tend to agree with rubbah. I'd like to see a faithful reproduction of this skin, instead of a hybrid. Part of my problem with the existing skins is they are all far too complex. I want something that is visually and functionally simple, and remote-controllable, so that anyone using my system can figure it out.

you have probably checked them butcould it be the files placed here:

C:\Program Files\Meedio\Meedio Essentials\themes\default\sounds

Yeah I don't think I'm going to do any more work on this. I may use a few ideas from it, but I'd rather just keep my old one going.

Sorry about that, thats why I didn't post the skin, just screenshots. I just wanted to see how possible it was before I went far with it. If I was to ever go any farther I would have asked for permission first.

I understand that permission should have been asked first from you before posting anything related to your skin, even screenshots and I believe the apologies show that it was an honest mistake.

Now, next time, a simple "Nice of you guys to reuse my graphics without asking permission" comment would have been fine. Adding "I guess no one can come up with original ideas and must steal others" accusations is stretching it. There are a lot of skin designers here that do have their own ideas put into their skins. I know you have worked hard building your skin and seeing it on a different board without your permission probably would ticked you off but please do not generalize one incident and accuse the whole community.

Again, I hope the apologies are accepted so we can leave it at that. I take it that from your last sentence that the skin conversion should stop, is that correct?

I give my images away to people as MANY others do EVERYWHERE... otherwise copywrite them, that is what the gov't made that office for.

I think it's pretty clear Kelmk doesn't want his graphics being used by anyone, everyone should respect that and find some new ones or make their own. It's his work and we will respect his wishes.

Oh, yeah, now he's making rocket science out of skins... I thought the spirit of the net was to share... I'm always happy when I see that something I've done is useful to somebody and I don't mind people using my work... but then, it's only me.

You and me both... I've seen a lot of people using various parts of my skin and buttons in other skins, and not just in xlobby either. I think its pretty cool to see how other people use them, and it makes it seem worth the time put into making them.

If I didn't want people using any of it, I wouldn't have posted my skin without any disclaimers/etc.... plus posted psd's of some of the source files, then get mad about it.

I understand if you don't want people using any of the source files tho, so I removed the screenshots.

Actually I have no problem sharing my graphics and theme. Many meedio themes use my icons and images. However it is a meedio theme and I would like to keep it on that platform.
Feel free to modfiy it for your own use but please don't post it.

I understand your desire to support Meedio...however, I downloaded it just to try your skin and...well...it REALLY blows (Meedio, not your skin, which is very cool)! The fact that I simply cannot get 5.1 SPDIF audio out of the DVD player, and I can't use Kernel Streaming plugins in the audio player (my card, Revolution 7.1 doesn't support ASIO over SPDIF), completely negates its appeal to HTPC'ers who like to fiddle to get that last bit of performance. As a consumer app for someone who loves his 64K MP3's, and downloaded DivX movies, it's fine...for others, it's just a toy.

I much prefer XLobby's ability to control external apps that actually work! Give XLobby a try and we might just recruit you to be an XLobby skin engineer instead!
