opening subfolders in xlobby

Postby max90034 on Wed May 23, 2007 4:08 am

I just started to use xlobby and I really like it after I tried many other Media Center softs but i have one very annoying problem...

I have my video files (.mpeg, .avi, etc) organized in simple folder/subfolder structure. So, I have imported my video library from mounted network share. I can see top folders right after I select VIDEO. However, when I click of specific folder - let's say "kids movies" - it seems that xlobby is trying to play this entire folder and all I see is a black screen. After I click again it shows video player. And only after I click "Back" it shows lit of movies and subfolders inside the top folder "Kids movies". So, every time I need to open subfolder I go through this sequence: click on folder name, click again to change from full screen to window view, click Back and only then I see the context of the folder...

What am i doing wrong? It has to be a simple way to navigate through the folder structure...

I realise that it's very simple question but I could not find answer anywhere... Thanks very much for your help...

i guess you have all of your "kids" film (mpeg/avi) files in a single sub folder?

xlobby expects the individual films to be in there own folder.

Ie. i guess your layout is -

vids
|
|-kids
| |- 1.avi
| |- 2.avi
| |- 3.avi
| |- 4.avi
|
|-another
| |- 1

If you tried -

vids
|
|-kids
| |- 1
| | |-1.avi
| |- 2
| | |-2.avi
| |- 3
| | |-3.avi
| |- 4
| | |-4.avi
|-another
| |- 1
| | |-1.avi

it would work as you expect

Yes, you right, this is how all my videos are stored. Thanks a lot!

Ooo, now I will need to create a few 100s folders...
