New version of Wintv2000 getting error

Postby homepc on Mon Jun 11, 2007 8:47 pm

badubo,

I have purchased a new Hauppauge Tuner card. This one comes with a new version of wintv2000 ver. 5.2.25082. I uninstalled the previous version and loaded this new version. Now when I try and run the xltv configuration, and select the tuner tab, select wintv2000 and click load, I get the following error:

object referance not set to an instance of an object.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Ray

Is that the "DebugMode" under Misc? After I do that, where do I look to find the logs?

Thanks for your help....

I uninstalled the tuner card and reinstalled it. I dont get the error anymore. But now when I select the tuner tab in XLTV, and select wintv2000, it loads wintv2000 without error, but I dont get the channel listing. I have all the channels configured in wintv2000, but the only channel I see after I select load is channel 12. I dont see all 75 or so channels. Is there a channel file I need to delete so XLTV can rebuild it?

thanks

Ok, I went back to my old tuner card. I still can not get the xltv plugin to work. It used to work just fine. Now I have it all screwed up so I deleted all the xltv stuff and I'm starting over. I can select the tuner card, but only one channel shows up. I have wintv2000 configured with all the channels. So, I tried k!tv, when I select K!TV, all the channels show up, but in the EPG guide, the XMLTV data is not right. I thinbk its the DTD file. How does that get created?

Thanks

You must reassign all channel of your ktv tuner to the channel ID of your Xmltv source

DTD stands for "Document Type Definition", it must be present...
It is not created, you must provide one

Thanks badubo....

I now have everythng back to the way it was. When I try and load the wintv2000 tuner in the xltv plugin, I get the following error. I have tried this with wintv2000 ver.5.2 and the new 6.0. both get this error. Do you have any ideas how I can get the new version of wintv2000 loaded in the xltv plugin? thanks Ray

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

Hello,
I'm not able to work with these versions (probably that my card, an old USB-2 PVR cannot use it)
Can you check if you have somewhere (in the wintv directory, windos or windos/system32) a .mdb file with a name like "hcwChanDB"
if yes, can you post it somewhere? I will see if I can open it.

Thanks again badubo,

I will look tonight after work and let you know the results....

by the way, you mentioned that you use an old USB-2 PVR, what software do you use to run it? Do you use wintv2000? or something else? I dont really care what I need to use. If we cant get the new version of wintv2k to work, should I switch to another software? I did try to setup K!TV outside of xlobby, but for some reason, everytime I ran it, it would just lock.

thanks
