XL EPG Woe and misery

Hi

I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to build a screen with an EPG in it.

I have EPG data for UK channels in XML format and have placed this file xmltv.xml and the xmltv.dtd file in the xlobby\xmltv directory.

Unfortunately Xlobby crashes when parsing the file during startup.

Presumably XL is trying to write the data to a database during this startup process and has encountered unexpected data.

I have looked at using the XLTV plugin by Badubo but I dont have any of the apps this plugin supports.

I have looked hard at the forum but epg config data is sketchy.


Anyone know of further adjustments I can make to XL to get it to read my XML file?

Fixed.

I was using a version of XMLTV which was a few months old. Newest version produces a readable XML file.

Did find some strange behaviour when trying to add the EPG to a screen though. Eventually got it working now and I have a working EPG grid.

Am now looking at ways of sorting the epg grid to only display a subset of channels using buttons on the EPG screen to display channels by genre.


I may be some time:-)
