Help each other out

mp3 on cdroms and xlobby

Postby dgemily on Thu May 20, 2004 1:54 am

Help please,

I have a xml file, grouping together the whole of my mp3 files, which are on stocked on cdroms numbered.

I wish create a research module, which could show their covers and on which number of cd they are located.

Is it possible? Has anyone an idea?

Thanks a lot

It sounds interesting but Im not sure I understand you fully. You have a collection of mp3s burned onto disks. Say, 4 disks (a-d, e-k, l-r, t-z or some other method). You want all these mp3s in your xlobby database, and appear as "offline" showing the album cover and when you click play it will say insert disk 4 or whatever appropriate disk the song is on? Am I understanding you? If so it doesnt sound like much different than a movie db. How many cdrom disks are we talking about? You might just make a db for each disk. then switch between cdrom databases. Or Im sure there is another way.

dgemily, Ive been working on this. First off, are all your cdroms full of albums or just random mp3s? 2. where will the coverart for all of these be stored? 3. what is the method for labeling your 450 roms? 1,2,3, etc. or something else. 4. are the roms d:track.mp3 or d:album/track.mp3 or d: artist/album/track.mp3? 5 can you send me the xml(s) you use for your group. mailto:colbyindesign@msn.com

Ive been working on this.
thanks

are all your cdroms full of albums or just random mp3s

there are everything; mp3,ogg,mpc,wma...higgledy-piggledy on roms and others roms with full of albums organize in directiry.

2. where will the coverart for all of these be stored?

At present my coverarts are stored on mp3roms, when there are directories there are sometime 1, 2 or 3 coverarts( front, back , cd) and sometime there isn't any coverart. I don't mind where will the coverart will be stored, in any directory.

3. what is the method for labeling your 450 roms? 1,2,3, etc. or something else

mp3_001
mp3_002
mp3_003
mp3_004
mp3_005
mp3_006
... and so on

4. are the roms d:track.mp3 or d:album/track.mp3 or d: artist/album/track.mp3?

there are everything :
d:track.mp3
d:album/track.mp3
d:album/cd1/track.mp3
d:album/cd21/track.mp3

5 can you send me the xml(s) you use for your group. mailto:colbyindesign@msn.com

just be patient,I have to reinstall my software and I will do it with some cdrom and after that I will send you.

thanks you very much, Colby you're a nice man
