You can add (.avi. .mpg or .wmv) videos into the background folder of any xLobby skin for use as a animated background. Your system should have a video card installed that performs hardware rendering to minamize heavy cpu load. Make sure you have Windows Media Player 11 or above installed or the background will not render.

New Background Animation Events under Comannd Group (xLobby):

1. Background Play
2. Background Stop
3. Background Set, selects the different file locations for background animations, static .jpg images or even web based images, example: "c:\My Animations\waveanimation.wmv"

Hey Wes,

will there be any issues with animated backgrounds, i find the server comes to a crawl after a few days of having animated background, especially if it has to load a 9meg file every time you enter the page. The 'quickness' of XL gets compromised when the animated backs are used.

Granted, i tried it a few Rev's ago, has there been any code changes to handle the animated backgrounds, or is that the same?
I do love the animated BG, but i can't justify the performance loss when they are used.

I have not noticed any issues with the backgrounds slowing my machine down. I have been running both of the matrix screens as well as others and every page still loads the same with or without animation. I have a ton others I will post up soon to share. Sorry about the Matrix files being so large, I have not found the limitations of Xlobby! I'm not to sure there are any

sounds good, i'll give it a try.

have you noticed any delay on loading up the page when you have the BG's on.
the pages work great after they are loaded, but there is a second delay to get the icons up.
do your pages start up in the same amount as when you use a standard background?
i was using the WMV files, that could have been an issue, i'll try your avi files.

keep those avi files comming.
they work great, no lag at all compared to the wmv files, like night and day.
the pages loaded just as fast as a static background.

i do like the 'news room' wmv files i have, looks real nice when i'm displaying information.

hey AVIAUDIO,
hope you don't mind, i am using your matrix theme for my xlobby, but i am doing my own HUD type display.
you know how the HP commercial's work. i am making the framework of putting myself in my menu.
i draw the screen, it pops up, then xlobby is displayed in the window.
i did a little test and i fell off my chair cause it was working out nicely.
